Frequently asked questions
- How many competitors can I watch?
- Depends on the plan. Starter does not include Compete. Pro allows up to 5 active watchlists. Agency up to 25. BYOK does not affect the limit — it affects the cost of the monthly score analyses.
- Is it legal to scrape competitor sites?
- Validio respects robots.txt. If a competitor disallows the user agent ValidioBot/1.0 for their URL, it won't be scraped. Only public on-page content is accessed, never private areas.
- How does Validio tell a meaningful change from noise?
- Every change is classified info / medium / high. Only medium and high trigger an alert. Info-level changes (timestamps, bundle hashes, dynamic dates) are ignored. The threshold is calibrated on real platform data.
- What exactly does the Radar do?
- Once a month, Validio analyses your sector's SERP and detects competitors you aren't watching yet but probably should. They appear as suggestions in your War Room so you can promote them to the watchlist or dismiss them.
